Endless fields of broken hills
Barren lands of souls vacant
Movement and then a plow
Lost so long ago
Amidst the potato rows
And the lonely weeds
Tweed, tweed, Tweet me,
Oh what a twist
To shift the cords for Savile Row
What’s left of the old man
Digging hope in soils undone
There, where hopelessness
Lay stripped raw
Came a song.

Mind the gap

of your illusions
are they your own
after all
or did you acquire them
buy them
breathe them
in somebody else’s play
jump over the mire
cut through those lies
freely blow
your own tune
inspire your core
be reckless
in your home town
mind the gap

i saw you
last night
while
i lay
in bed
half awake
inebriated
by
the smell
of
your hair
caressing
my cheeks
as you thrust
your head
back
towards the ceiling
and i heard you
shiver
and i felt you
sigh
and i glimpsed
your soul
as you rocked
gently
close
yet far
and your skin
pale
against
the pitch black
room
soft as a
feather
warm as
your breath
supple as
a
passing thought
lightened up
the night
in glory
and awe.

Words won’t obey
as they fail…
to grasp…
The meaning of infinity.
How could I express
in letter, word or form,
what goes beyond my
tongue’s comprehension?
As I feel the wave
approach me
in layers
of heat and air
breathed through
the pores
of my body’s pain
you heal the bleeding
wounds of my essence.
So silently
I scream my prayer;
that I may utter,
fully conscious,
deadly aware,
the word
that will convey
the secret code
that may open
the gate
home.
